Turn a dot on, turn a Dotton into anything.

One tiny ancestor.
Evolved by everyone.

Change a few pixels of someone else's icon and a new generation is born. Branches split, the crowd votes on new species, and the lineage tree keeps growing. Every icon is free to use.

The lineage tree

Every tile is a species — a branch the crowd chose to keep. Each one holds 8 generations of changes. Tap a tile to see its story.

How evolution works

Read the details →
  1. 1

    Pick an icon

Any but your own, its children or grandchildren. Every other icon on the lineage tree is a possible parent.

  2. 2

    Change a few pixels

Repaint 4–12 pixels, and maybe a color or the dot shape. Small steps, big drift.

  3. 3

    Natural selection

Every 8 generations, the close relatives that made it that far face a vote. 2 days to join, 3 days in all — one becomes a new species, the rest go extinct.

  4. 4

    Name it later

Like scientists naming a find, the people who evolve the new species next — and whoever evolved it — propose names. 3 days of voting decide.

Your change could start a species.

It takes a minute. Nobody knows where the lineage tree goes next.
